John P. Falter sketching works for his “Jazz From Life” portfolio at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1971. Falter included the following note describing this project:
JAZZ FROM LIFE
These lithographs were made from drawings done while the Jazz Artist was playing, or at rest, usually a 30-minute time period. The Broadmoor Jazz Party ‘71 and the Odessa, Texas Party ‘73 provided the contents of this folio.
